Matt Crenshaw leads the Publishing Operations and Analytics team, which publishes all content onto the HowStuffWorks.com platform, including internally produced material, licensed content and content converted from offline sources. In addition to expanding the content offerings on HowStuffWorks.com, the Publishing Operations team closely monitors visitor data to apply data-driven methods to the selection and presentation of all content on the site.
In 2005, Matt joined HowStuffWorks.com as the Director of the Strategy & Research Team (SRT). Within SRT, Matt helped define best practices for the company's emerging content platform and evaluate new business opportunities.
Prior to HowStuffWorks.com, Matt was the Web Managing Editor at the Chicago History Museum, responsible for building online exhibits and bringing the museum's collection of more than 20 million artifacts online. Matt holds a master's degree from Harvard University, where he focused on educational research and also studied emerging technologies and entrepreneurship at the MIT Media Lab. Matt is active in the Web analytics community and serves on the Client Advisory Board for Omniture, the world's largest Web analytics provider.
